Summer Activities

The two ski lifts in Oz can quickly take you up to 2,100 meters or even 3,300 meters to for example stroll, do mountain-biking or simply enjoy the spectacular view. These ski lifts can also take you to Alpe d’Huez.

You can practice many sports in Oz and its surroundings. In addition to that, the local tourist information office organizes all sorts of activities for young and old during the high season. Below you find a selection of the possibilities.


Numerous trails, which you can explore with the entire family, begin in the area surrounding the chalet: discover the lakes, forests and waterfalls. During the summer season you can use the cable-car railway to explore the mountains and the lakes, glaciers, flora and fauna of the Massif des Grandes Rousses. In addition to that there are possibilities for hiking with a guide.



Alpe d’Huez will sound familiar to every racing cyclist. But there are many more mountain passes you can find in the area. How about Col du Glandon, Col de la Croix de Fer, Col d’Ornon and Col de Gabilier. In short, every racing cyclist can train his climbing legs in this area.


Oz is located in the middle of an exceptional mountain biking area.

This area has 250 kilometers of ski runs and specially laid out routes for all levels and designed for all kinds of mountain bikes: 14 downhill runs, 16 cross country routes and 4 descents.

Thanks to the numerous cable-lifts that are opened during the summer season a total of 10,000 meters difference in height can be covered in a single day.



Several routes can be driven to beautiful places and unforgettable mountain villages, across beautiful mountain passes, past large reservoirs, making it an ideal way to get to know the area.

Water sports

In the valley of Oz en Oisans we find the large reservoir Lac de Verney where one can do many water sports such as windsurfing, sailing, pedal boating and of course fishing.

In Oz and its direct surroundings there are the following other activities.

– climbing wall (both at beginner and advanced level)

– Indoor swimming pool with balneo bath and sauna

– kamikaze park with several racetracks

– paintball

– archery under the supervision of a certified teacher

– miniature golf

– tennis (there are 2 tennis courts)

– fishing in the numerous lakes

– canoeing, rafting, canyoning

– horse-riding

– children’s club, during the holiday period for children aged 6 to 12
